As a CAD Operator, you will support assigned engineers, landscape architects, and surveyors by providing technical support and creating drawings using CAD software for Water / Wastewater related projects under close supervision. You will apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts drawings and are expected to recognize discrepancies in technical drawings and to pursue appropriate direction from design staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Draft preliminary layouts from engineering notes, sketches, and/or other drawings, ensuring they meet company and industry standards and codes.
Assist in completion of engineering drawings.
Complete drawing/project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule while reviewing own work for completeness and accuracy.
Work with project managers and assigned team to ensure coordination of design effort.
Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files, and project-related information per company procedures.
Reproduce drawing and document packages.
Aid with other CAD related tasks as directed.
Analyze and devise new or improved techniques when problems arise. Communicates solutions to supervisor for approval and implementation.
Participate in team meetings, as needed.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a field related to computer aided drafting OR 2+ years of relevant experience.
Training and/or experience should include the use of and familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and other programs with a working knowledge of drafting standards, mathematics, science, and engineering technology preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Adobe Acrobat required.
Valid driver’s license.
Organization skills and aptitude for detail.
Experience demonstrating the ability to work within a team structure.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
